What can you do to protect Bristol Bay from the ravages of open pit mining? The mining companies have said that the toughest part of any project is the permitting process. People like you are central to this process because it is very difficult to obtain a permit without public support. Proposed mines all over the world have been stopped by local opposition.
The Bristol Bay Alliance is using public presentations, direct mail, advertising and one-on-one outreach to educate the public and encourage citizen action. These things cost money--especially in remote rural communities--but it is what must be done. You can help us protect Bristol Bay by joining the Bristol Bay Alliance.
Your support is critical to our success. Individual memberships cost $25 and we encourage all of our members to give at a level consistent with their concern and their ability to give.
We will provide periodic reports and other information to keep you updated on our campaign. You will also have opportunities to communicate your concern to legislative decision-makers and the media.
