Bay Mining District Map
This
large map (2.8MB download) shows state mining claims in red
and BLM lands in yellow. Despite industry denials,
hundreds, if not thousands of square miles of public lands
are threatened by open pit mining and this map is proof.
Pebble
Claim Block Map
This map
shows the largest claim block (540 square miles) that surrounds
the proposed Pebble Mine site. In this image, Pebble pit,
tailings, and waste rock, cover ~21square miles of pristine headwaters
habitat - an area the size of Manhattan.
BLM
Lands Up for Grabs
This
map shows the 3.6 million acres of BLM lands in Bristol Bay
in yellow. Most or all of these could be opened to
hardrock mining.
